I have put a lot of time and effort into my family tree, (with the help of my parents, grandparents, and community members in the Virgie area, it seems that my family name is the one I have trouble with, and it is the one I want to know the most about. As far as I can get is to William Little born in 1785, I have seen his name here but not anything to continue the line, I would appreciate any help in getting this line back farther and if I could be any help to anyone else on any other lines in the Virgie area, I would be happy in helping them, you could e-mail me at jalitt01@morehead-st.edu.

Bart had brothers and sisters named Dave, Alice, Jess, & John Mark and a step-brother, Dewey. Bart and Roma's children: 1. My mother recently died and I am searching for information on her natural parents or any living relatives in Toler or Pike County, KY. My mother, Bessie May Wise, was born in 1926 to Asa H. May and Francis Munsey May. Francis died shortly afterward and my mother was raised by a family named Steele. I will be in Toler in early May and hope to find the grave of Francis or Asa, hopefully to bury my mother's ashes at or near the site. If anyone can provide information or suggestions, I will always be grateful as my mother was very very special--so full of love and compassion, yet she had a life of much pain and difficulty. I love her so very much, and miss her beyond measure, so please help if you can. She deserves peace in her death, and she loved the mountains and Kentucky so much. I am looking for any information on WALLACE and HORNE. My Mamaw was Dorothy Mae Horne-Wallace, daughter of Mathilda Barb Horne...not sure of g-grandpa's name. My Papaw was John Ferrell Wallace. Both lived in Cabin Fork of Dorton. Dorothy Mae was a school-teacher in Dorton, and John Ferrell worked in the coal mines. I am the daughter of the late Carl Eugene Wallace, who was Dorothy and John's next-to-youngest son.

Looking for birth dates on Ambrose Morris Sr. b. ? VA. He was married to ? Davis. Her parents were Eziekel and Elizabeth Davis. Nothing more is known about her. Their children were: Anderson, Henry, Jesse, William, Judith, Nancy, Ambrose Jr., and Mary Bettle. *Judith b. 1771/72 Halifax Va. m. Richard Keesee 8-17-1852. Richard was Justice of the Peace for Pike Co. until his death in 1848 in Pike Co. KY. Judith died 8-17-1852 in Pike Co. KY. *Nancy b. abt 1800, m. Charles Staton 8-13-1820 in Floyd Co. KY *Ambrose b. 2-8-1815 m. Mary Polly Bevins b. 3-10-1819. They were married in Pike Co. KY 1-18-1838. Ambrose d. 6-22-1902. It is believed Giles Morris is the father of Ambrose Sr. I have only christening dates for Giles's children. Ambrose Sr. was christened 4-4-1773. William Morris and Ann ? is the parents of Giles who was christened 1729. Looking for birth dates of ANY of these people. I have a very comprehensive tree from Ambrose Jr. to present. Looking for information on parents of Columbus James b. NC Abt 1846. Married Rachel Overby b. NC abt 1849. They were married in Pike Co. KY in 1870. Their parents were born in NC. Known children are Estil James, William R., and Nelson. Estil b. 1874 m. Mary Elizabeth Fields b. 1881 in Pike Co. KY in 1894. They had 7 children: Carona "Ked"; James, Nelson, Wilson, Victor, Frank, Sophie, Dolly, Deset, and Holly. Estil d. 1957, Mary d. 1949. Also need info on parents of Mary Fields. Marriage license says her parents born in NC. She was born in KY. Her mother was Katherine Upton; her father Simpson Fields. It is believed his father was Lewis (Louis) Fields. I can find nothing on these people. Katherine was 1/2 Cherokee and 1/2 Cree. Simpson was a white man who owned a plantation in VA? Florida? Katherine's mother was Cherokee, her father Cree. No names were ever given or, at least, remembered. Any help with either the JAMES, FIELDS, or OVERBY families would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Glenna
