I am Letha Berry, the County Coordinator for Pike County. We are a proud member of KYGenWeb and USGenWeb Projects. I am glad you have decided to stop and spend some time here. I hope you will find this site interesting and a good resource as you research your Pike County roots. I grew up in Pike County so this is my home. I have strong family ties to eastern Kentucky and still have family that live in Pike County. My father was a coal miner for Republic Steel at Road Creek. I grew up in the small community of Wolfpit and graduated from Elkhorn City High School in 1968. GO COUGARS!

If you currently have a eastern Kentucky genealogy website, family photos or genealogy information and would like to share this with other researchers please e-mail me with the information and I will be happy to advise you on how to include it here. Your input is essential to making the Pike County KY GenWeb page a great one!

Please feel free to e-mail me with any suggestions or comments you may have concerning the page. Thanks for stopping by and I hope your visit is productive!

Here is a brief history of The KYGenWeb Project:
In March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Kentucky, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index.

At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page.

Have fun and check back for frequent changes as I update the information here! Please take a moment and SIGN THE PIKE COUNTY GUESTBOOK before you go --
